Background: The present study was carried out to determine the effect aerobic activity on Insomnia. The design of the study was quasi‐ experimental with a pretest‐ posttest.
Methods: The participants of this study were those middle‐aged females who were introduced to psychiatry clinics in 2014, among which twenty of them were selected by Convient sampling and randomly and classied into an experimental and control group. The participant received aerobic activities with 65% to 70% intensity for 6 months. The ISI Insomnia Index for assessing insomnia accompanying with psychiatry examing SE‐ 36 life quality questionnaire and Polar Rating Scope were used to control heart beat intensity in activities. The data were analyzed by Covariance Analysis.
Results: The result of the study manifested that 18% of the variations in Insomnia scors were because of aerobic activities . The result also showed by controlling life quality , aerobic activities are effective in curing insomnia in middle – aged females. To be more precise , it can be stated that by mediating life quality variable , 11 percent of variations in insomnia scores was because of aerobic activities
