Abstract: The aim of this presentation is to demonstrate the recent innovations in bone bioenginnering for oral reconstruction in patients with compromised bony foundation. The following methods of alveolar reconstruction will be presented: 1. Autogenous Bone grafts 2. Alveolar Distraction Osteogeneis 3. The use of zygomatic implants 4. Pre-clinical and clinical use of BMP This multimedia presentation will debate the concepts of contemporary implantology, highlight the existing difficulties and emphasise the importance of evidence based practice and research opportunities in implant related biotechnology.
