Abstract:

Abu Ali Sina’s (Avicenna as known in the world literature) knowledge about the functional and regional anatomy of the recurrent laryngeal nerves in being revised and compared to the old and modern anatomical knowledge. It is very well understood that: 1) His remarks in the field of anatomy of the recurrent nerve is quite close to what we know today. 2) His experience in this field has a strong experimental and practical basis. 3) Minimal errors show that these have been a lack of knowledge in correlating the function and anatomy of the larynx. 4) His belief in “God” to have the finest artistic creation of newel miniature is quite evident.
